The Shipping Supervisor role is based in Villeneuve, Alberta at the Inland Aggregates location and reports directly to the Production Superintendent.
What you’ll get to do:
Direct shipping efforts in the most cost-efficient manner to maximize the utilization of the department’s fixed and mobile equipment
High focus on department safety; coordination and responsibility of the shipping department safety program
Supervision and coordination of all shipping loader operators at multiple shipping locations
Supervision of aggregate depot locations, including proper staffing levels, and inventory tracking
Supervision support for production employees
Work with customer service department to ensure proper coordination of scale employees and scale functions
Drive optimization and continuous improvement of truck loading, scaling, ticketing and production streams
Follow all company policies and safety procedures
Ensure product inventory control measures
Ensure accuracy in sales reporting
Ensure shipping department has a high percentage of availability at all times
Maintain customer focus while helping to manage customer relationships including problem resolution, product advice and delivery options
Set up of new sites including procurement of equipment including scales, buildings, networks and phones
Field contact for administering haul road agreements (graders, dust control, hours of operation etc.) Essential Experience and Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent, College Degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technology driven and tech savvy, experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and JWS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to communicate clear and concise instructions in a professional manner
