We have an exciting opportunity in Vancouver to share with you! Cadman Inc., a division of Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited, is seeking a qualified HR/ Office Administrator. This position will reside in Vancouver, WA and will report to the Ready Mix Area Manager of SWA and OR.

This position provides a wide variety of administrative support to operations supervision and employees of all businesses in Southern Washington and Oregon area, which includes 5 aggregate sites, 3 ready-mix plants, 1 construction crew, and 1 resale yard (a total of approximately 160 employees and managers). Primarily assists in daily office and business needs and performs/manages the region’s general and advanced administrative activities for, HR, Sales, AR/AP to and to ensure compliance with Federal/State/Local laws and company policies/procedures.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Provide administrative support to all managers and supervisors in SWAOR regarding hourly employee recruitment process and personnel changes, such as posting job requisitions, scheduling interviews, initiating and following-through on pre-employment processes, ensuring completion of new hire paperwork and onboarding process.

  • Manages all employee files and hourly transactional matters in the SWAOR region. Helps employees with MyLehighHanson self-service functions. Serves as a backup for payroll and Kronos (time entry system) as needed.

  • Coordinates with site/department supervision regarding training needs and audit activities. Creates and maintains Driver Qualification files, tracks driver recertification status to ensure meeting DOT requirements. Creates and maintains employee and customer files according to Record Retention Policies. Renews business and other licenses as required.

  • Coordinates with managers and supervision in various businesses to obtain necessary information and generates reports/ presentations. Enters data and completes reports for Fuel Tax Credits and other reporting requirements in Washington and Oregon states to ensure compliance and obtain tax credits.

  • Serves as the point-of-contact for visitors to the office and redirects them to proper businesses/persons. Provides a wide range of administration activities such as mail/courier services, ordering office and safety supplies, scheduling building maintenance needs, managing conference room calendars, making lunch arrangements, paying office service bills, etc.

  • Distributes corporate, regional, and local announcements, memo. Manages bulletin board postings in the Orchards office. Organizes events, birthday parties, etc.

  • Performs additional duties and special projects as requested.

Who we’re looking for:

  • High School Diploma is required and Post-Secondary education is an asset

  • Additional qualification/certification as an administrative assistant an asset

  • 3+ years of admin assistant experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience supporting HR/Safety an asset

  • General knowledge of aggregates/ concrete industry a plus

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, ability to multi-task

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work

  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Ability to learn new technology and systems quickly

  • Working knowledge of office equipment such as printers and fax machines
