Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited is looking for a Technical Logistics Coordinator. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this will act as the technical advisor to the Dispatch group by advising on site issues, mix selection and recommendations to the Customer Service Representatives and the Dispatchers.
What you’ll get to do:
Act as the technical advisor to the Dispatch team regarding site issues/out of spec tests/mix selection and recommendations
Manage process of returned concrete including mitigating waste, optimizing risk, transferring loads where possible, reporting and establishing protocols and manage the transparency/knowledge transfer to operations with memos and training.
Liaise with operations on procurement and inventory of specialized materials and needs of labour and equipment, and liaise with QC department and lead hand technicians on daily scheduling and hot spots.
Review daily orders for inconsistencies/potential issues, VAP opportunity, and potential for increased water densities.
Assist lab supervisors on data targets/testing frequency and the Dispatch team with phone calls and tasks as required
Responsible for LEED submittals and contributing to the weekly QA report.
Who we are looking for:
Post-Secondary Degree in Civil Engineering
2 years of materials testing and/or concrete testing experience
Strong technical knowledge of concrete is an asset
Must have an understanding of construction and engineering standard practices
Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication
Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Location – We’re centrally located!
This position will be based out of our Shaughnessy office in South Vancouver. We’re centrally located within walking distance of the Canada line and also offer free private parking for our commuters.
