HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

Reporting to the Plant Manager/WR Cement Business Manager, this position will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting functions at the Plant and various regional responsibilities, including general ledger, monthly financial reports, various financial analysis, preparation of capital expenditure requests and annual operating plan. This position has dotted-line reporting relationship to VP – Finance.

  • Maintain accurate general ledger and supporting financial records to provide basis for financial accounting and reporting.

  • Work closely with Plant Management, Purchasing and Operations to ensure complete transparency of all operating costs with a focus on budget adherence

  • Analyze and report West Region Cement goods receipt/inventory receipts variances.

  • Assist with preparation of capital expenditure requests, complete required financial analyses and cost tracking for all West Region Cement capital projects.

  • Coordination/preparation of the annual operating plan, quarterly forecast and monthly estimates.

  • Oversee/maintain internal controls and procedure to safeguard plant assets, including approval process for access to SAP. Provide input concerning any access control issue.

  • Monthly plant closings based on timeline and guidelines provided by SSC-Cement and requirements of Region management

  • Monthly balance sheet analysis and review for West Region Cement with corporate shared service group.

  • Prepare and submit operating/financial reports to corporate/regional operation and financial management.

  • Work with Purchasing to create/maintain open purchase orders reporting tool to assist in monthly financial estimates for West Region Cement.

  • Oversees raw material, clinker and cement physical inventories.

This position will be based at Tehachapi, California.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this role.

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • BS degree in Accounting or 10 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform cost/benefit analysis for capital expenditures, month-end processing, forecasting/budgeting and physical inventory.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong skills in computer applications, particularly MS Excel.

  • SAP Experience a must.
