HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this position is responsible for the vessel operation of the Stockton, CA Terminal.
The individual in this position will be involved and have direct reporting responsibilities for all personnel working at the terminal. This will include assessment of personnel, development, recruitment, and implementing the management processes and procedures that align with Human Resources and Company policies and procedures.
Adherence to all maritime compliance rules and regulations of the Golden Arrow silo ship.
Shipboard maintenance including lines management, ballasting, certifications, record keeping, etc.
Supervise Terminal Operations & employees including ensuring strict adherence to Lehigh safety policies and procedures. Ensure the terminal is always operating within environmental compliance standards.
Maintain quality service to customers and carriers; maintaining reliability of equipment; and maximizing use of labor to optimize operational efficiency and throughput.
Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance program.
Participate as a member of the Management Team within the Distribution organization
Coordinate plan & schedule the effective use of the stevedore activities during vessel discharge operations.
Effective coordination with the Port, Shipping Agent, Pilots, Tugs, Linesman, Heidelberg Trading, Coast Guard, CBP, and all other entities related to the maritime aspects of the terminal.
Instill a focus on the objectives of the Strategic Plan and ensure that action plans are developed and implemented to attain targets and objectives
Maintain files for vessel & loadout equipment, sales, and inventory control reports and records
Manage, maintain, and ensure adherence to applicable legislation, regulations & permits.
Purchase vessel, ship unloader and truck loadout equipment and supplies as necessary to maintain operations in compliance with the Company’s policies, including but not limited to the Purchasing Policy, Contract Compliance Policy and Contract Signing Authority Policy
Assist in developing annual opex and capex budgets
Other duties and responsibilities as required
Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings,monitoring compliance etc.
Proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance
Must be able to pass TSA security requirements to obtain TWIC
Must be able to stay overnight on the vessel when needed.
