Seasonal Loader Operator

A Seasonal Loader Operator is required for the responsible and safe operation of various heavy equipment on site. Fueling, greasing and maintaining general operation of equipment is required. This role is responsible for communicating when maintenance of machine is needed. May be responsible for unloading trucks, equipment and materials on the job site. This role will drive and/or manipulate equipment to dig and move earth, sand, gravel or a combination of these materials. The loader may also operate similar earth-moving or construction equipment as part of the job. Must be able to effectively communicate and safely follow directions. Report any deviations from the norm that might impact production, quality or processing efficiencies.

This position is required to perform various tasks on and around our aggregate production facilities including general labouring such as site clean-up and maintenance. Reading and writing various production, safety procedures and reports are a requirement. The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player. Must be able to work without direct supervision. Shift work and overtime will be required.

What You Will Get to Do:

  • Operate mobile equipment on plant property (loader, haul truck, water truck, etc.)

  • Maintain cleanliness of plant work areas

  • Assist with plant tasks including lubrication, maintenance, repairs

  • Transport materials to and from storage and shop areas

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures; assist with physical inspections of plant property/departments.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Formal training and/or red seal certification and proven proficiency required

  • Previous experience in an open pit mine is an asset

  • Experience using (or ability to learn) plant mobile equipment

  • Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team

  • Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Capable of learning through on the job training

  • Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions

  • In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain

  • Ability to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime required
