Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Plant Manager. This position will reside at the aggregates plant located in Santa Margarita, CA.

Direct and manage the aggregate and asphalt plant operations for the facility located in the beautiful California Central Coast with overall responsibilities for safety, environmental, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities. The position ensures compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for a safe, environmentally sound production of a quality product. This position supervises non-union employees and reports to the California Central Coast Area Manager.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Manage all aspects of aggregate and asphalt production.

  • Prepare and execute short and long term site development master plan.

  • Oversee the development and execution of Capital Expenditure plans.

  • Establish goals that reflect continuous improvement in plant operations.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations for annual merit proposals.

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, monitor plant costs, analyze KPI metrics, and responsible for overall P&L activity.

  • Direct production efforts in the most cost efficient manner and maximize the utilization of equipment and reserves.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

  • Implement Lehigh Hanson’s Employment Policies and Guidelines to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations.

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, ESH, finance, QC, HR, Legal, CCM, and other related departments.

  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure safety compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental laws.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in engineering preferred but not required

  • Experience and “hands on” production and supervisory experience with aggregates or asphalt operations.

  • Experience working with mine reclamation plans and site permitting (stormwater, NPDES, air, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to optimize production processes.

  • Strong, proven leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and decision making skills.

  • Experience and knowledge of modern maintenance technology and methods.

  • Must have a working knowledge of aggregate production and associated equipment, and an extensive understanding of operations and safety requirements for the equipment.

  • Must have working knowledge of state and federal employment, safety and environmental laws.

  • Proficient use of standard MS office tools

  • Experience of capital and operating budget management; sound knowledge of plant financial reporting.
