Lehigh Cement is seeking a qualified Project Engineer for the West Region team
This is an exciting opportunity, with lots of opportunities to support large capital investment throughout the West Region.
The Project Engineer will be based in San Ramon office in California and he/she is willing to travel to support projects throughout the region.
The candidate will support engineering activities and external consulting specialty engineering firms by supporting engineering design, project management and construction management for large investments. The candidate will support regional management with project development, design, estimating and construction/implementation of major plant equipment upgrades, plant replacements and infrastructure expansion projects.
Responsible to create a culture focused on always delivering on-time, within budget to the highest quality level (QCD).
Provide proactive safety guidance and ensure that all safety procedures and practices are adhered to during all projects and site visits.
Direct and coordinate the engineering, general plant arrangements, procurement, construction and start-up of assigned capital projects with a focus on completing projects on time, within scope and within budget.
Coordinate with PM, engineering firms, purchasers, QC inspectors, expeditors, etc.
Specify, purchase and manage/review equipment from vendors;
Develop conceptual/final plans, estimates, and schedules for capital projects.
Have a thorough understanding of engineering design best practices, and be able to identify areas to apply them in existing and new equipment, and ensure these best practices are shared widely.
Prepare regular and timely progress and cost reports during the project and manage the entire project process of project development, execution, completion, acceptance, closure and handover.
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Engineering Degree, Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical or Proven Similar Working Experience
+3 years’ preferably Mechanical or Process engineering
Willingness to travel 30%-40% of working time (domestically within USA)
Good command of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
Analytical and systematic way of working, innovativeness, and taking initiative
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
