HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
The Estimating Assistant is responsible for support of the estimating department managing critical functions to ensure accurate and timely project pursuits in both public and private sector projects within the ATP’s regional target markets.
Drive project searches (Dodge, Buynet, AGC, Agency advertisement engines) to find and identify opportunities that fit strategic objectives
Ability to manage bid document process, prepare and process bid documents and coordination of bid proposals while interacting with legal and risk departments to obtain appropriate documents to ensure a complete and accurate bid package
Lead necessary good faith efforts to allow company to be recognized as a responsive bidder
Maintain Bid Schedules and scheduling of all bid reviews and bid submittals
Ability to communicate with operational teams
Coordinate with the Chief Estimator and estimating team to manage estimating process to ensure deadlines are met for multiple ongoing projects
Lead the development and submittal of formal proposals including maintaining resume’s and project information cards to demonstrate work experience
Aide with project start-up, including contract execution, issuing insurance certificates, creation of job set up packages for the field
Online and hard copy file organization and maintenance
Tracking of bidding history and success rates
Maintain and renew all related business licenses for appropriate public agencies
This position will be based in San Diego.
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Business Administration degree or related work experience in estimating department for a civil construction company.
Three plus years’ experience in estimating assistant role
Knowledge and understanding of the bid process for civil construction
Demonstrate strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and common sense
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task while managing multiple projects
Ability to interact and communicate directly and effectively with all operational team members
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Additional Requirements / Skills
Ability and willingness to operate within the guidelines of ATP’s Code of Conduct
Must be a Team player and able to operate in a dynamic environment
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
