The Role:

Cadman, a division of Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited, is looking for an Operations Manager – North Washington Plants and Ready-mix Drivers. Reporting to the Area Manager, this position provides leadership, manages, coordinates, and optimizes the safe delivery of concrete for RMC. This position is also responsible for the maintenance/preventative programs for RMC plants. This position will work closely with the Sales Manager, Customer Service Manager and the Technical Services Manager of Cadman in the implementation of the Greater Puget Sound concrete business strategy.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Provide leadership, expertise and manage the process for the efficient and safe delivery of RMC in the Greater Puget Sound.

  • Provide leadership, expertise and manage driver and plant supervisors in area of responsibility.

  • Provide leadership, expertise and manage the maintenance, preventative programs and special projects for the concrete plants located in the Greater Puget Sound.

  • Ensure full safety, environmental, and training compliance with all levels of regulators while meeting or exceeding the Regional indicators.

  • Facilitate a positive and productive working environment with key stakeholders such as managers, direct reports, workers, and unions.

  • Coach, mentor and cross train other staff members for development purposes.

Who we are looking for:

  • Post-Secondary degree in engineering, business, or logistics desired.

  • Minimum 10 years industry experience and 5 years at a managerial level, with exposure to working with unionized environments

  • Advanced concrete, construction, and/or logistics experience required

  • Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer software

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team successfully
