Summary:

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for providing efficient and timely coordination of all transport services for the asphalt paving operations. This position plays a key role in our organization and shares responsibility for transportation, production and administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate trucking and project needs with Operations Managers, Job Site Superintendents, Project Managers, Asphalt Plants, and Vehicle Maintenance teams in support of paving operations.

  • Schedules and dispatches construction trucks and paving equipment to meet project needs and coordinates external trucking needs with Dispatch.

  • Communicates with supervisors, managers, QC, aggregates and asphalt plants to make necessary revisions to schedules for both current and future projects.

  • Prepare accurate reports, such as time cards for approval, safety incident reports, driver availability, start times, location, equipment locations, safety gear distribution and trucking costs.

  • Visit job sites prior to project start to plan truck routes and ensure that safety, quality and production standards can be met.

  • Communicate daily expectations with drivers, including truck compatibility, payload, and configuration.

  • Purchase and distribute crew’s safety gear, tools, and supplies.

  • Prepare and review accurate reports such as Safety Incident Reports, driver and load information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate, and plan ahead.

  • Strong communicational, organizational, and analytical skills with a min of 5 years in construction and a valid driver’s license.

  • Proactive friendly and business-like disposition towards others in a dynamic work environment.

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, training, planning and directing work, and addressing and resolving employee complaints.

  • Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement, Teamsters, Operators, and Laborers, along with Federal and State Prevailing Wage Labor Laws.

  • Proficient in MS Suite (Office, Excel, Outlook)

  • Knowledge of DOT and CDL regulations.
