Cadman Inc. is seeking a qualified Construction Manager who will utilize all available resources to secure work that is heavy in stone products and hot mix asphalt. The Manager also ensures that these projects are completed safely, efficiently and within budget.

This position will reside in Redmond, WA.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Seek out jobs to bid through various sources (WSDOT, Builders Exchange, Etc.). Participate with estimators to ensure comprehensive and accurate job costing. Thoroughly review job estimates before applying markup and submitting bids.

  • Assign and motivate job superintendents and paving foremen for the various projects. Have daily communication to monitor progress, schedule, costs and resources. Suggest or recommend any potential cost savings measures.

  • Plan and coordinate paving schedules with the project’s owners and with Cadman’s HMA Plants.

  • Schedules and coordinates resources needed to complete the job with the appropriate departments, subcontractors, and outside agencies.

  • Oversee the construction shop to ensure that the construction’s equipment is well maintained for maximum utilization.

  • Work with the Environmental and Safety Departments to ensure all laws and regulations are met. Establish, lead, and maintain safe working environments for all.

  • Work with the construction accounting department to monitor job costs and modify methods and resource when necessary to stay within budgets.

  • Respond to Human Resources issues as they arise. Responsible for selection, termination and layoffs.

  • Maintains a working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Communicate with the Area Manager to discuss progress, schedules, and other various issues.

Who we are looking for:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.

  • 5+ years in Construction Management.

  • 5+ years of experience working with WASDOT preferred.

  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.

  • Solid communications skills, both oral and written.

  • Solid computer skills including, including Microsoft Office and estimating software.

  • Prior experience with job bidding and cost analysis a must
