Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Storeroom Supervisor for the cement plant located in Redding, CA.

While focusing on maximizing storeroom efficiencies and inventory for a successful company, you will begin your career with a proven leader in the cement and construction materials supply. The position entails managing the day to day storehouse operations including the proper storage, handling, charging and reordering (through requisition) repair parts for the plant facility. The Storeroom Supervisor will work as a member of a team with Purchasing, Maintenance, Accounting and the Production Departments, as well as supervision of the storeroom clerk.

Redding is a town of approximately 100 000 people nestled between the Trinity Alps and the Cascades. It is renowned for its scenic beauty, lakes and rivers and abundance of recreational activities. Winters are mild.


  • Promote safe working practices, housekeeping and procedures to ensure implementation of plant “safety first” program within the stores department.

  • Supervise, schedule, train and evaluate stores employee/s in their day to day duties. Handles the concerns of the employees within the department. Have full understanding of the Labor Agreement as it pertains to the department.

  • Administer physical inventory of spare parts accuracy and integrity and determine adequacy of stock levels, discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies

  • Oversee the storage, identification (tagging), record keeping, proper charging and reordering of maintenance parts using the company ERP system (SAP)

  • Monitor inventory for efficient min/max reordering and recommend remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow-moving and excess stock

  • Facilitate process change to better manage and control total cost of inventory. Investigate opportunities for the consignment of inventory and best practices for handling and storage.

  • Build relationships with vendors to optimize supplies and inventory.

  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings,monitoring compliance etc.


  • High school diploma required;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related business field or equivalent from Four-year College or technical school, desired.

  • 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to interact with other company employees and vendors in a satisfactory manner that results in the cooperation of all parties (people skills / team based)

  • Technical understanding of maintenance/electrical parts and supplies strongly preferred.

  • Interest in hands-on interaction with manufacturing operation.

  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred

  • Computer skills (PC, ERP, and Microsoft Office tools). SAP Preferred.

  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
