The Senior Sales Representative role is based in Redding, CA and reports directly to the VP of Cement Sales. The right candidate can reside anywhere in the territory.

This position will be responsible for marketing, selling and technical assistance for cement within the greater Northern California and Southern Oregon markets while focusing on growing existing and prospective customers to increase market share and improving profit margins.

What you’ll get to do

• Marketing and selling cement products within the above noted region

• Providing technical support for the cement and aggregate side to our customer base

• Reviewing bid documents and specifications and preparing bid packages and quotes

• Targeting and acquiring new accounts and maintaining existing accounts by strengthening customer relationships

• Achieving sales volumes and maximizing prices based on market conditions and company goals

• Monthly review of pricing and volume analytics actual vs. target

• Representing Lehigh Hanson in various industry associations

• Working with customers and credit department to optimize accounts receivable and to mitigate bad debt risk.

• Participating in business-line forecasts, budgeting and planning strategies

• Ensuring compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing training, monitoring compliance

• Working with the Cement Plants to develop a good understanding of production costs and the various manufacturing processes

Essential Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or relevant discipline

• Professional sales experience dealing with customers at all levels of an organization, from field operational staff to senior executives and business owners

• Motivation and ability to travel to customer locations, including possible overnight stays

• Strong track record of effective problem resolution and high customer satisfaction results

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Technical knowledge of cement products

• Experience with ready-mix concrete or related construction materials

• Proficient with Microsoft Office software


• Experience dealing with government specifying agencies and/or design consultants

• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and networking skills

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
