HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing performance maintenance requirements on electrical components associated with motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems and loading/unloading-related equipment.

Diagnose and repair single/three phase electrical systems, electrical control systems, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and other electrical components.

Complete electrical tasks that include reading schematics, drawings, and electrical diagrams.

Monitor and repair electrical defects on equipment using diagrams, sketches, manuals, manufacturing instructions and engineering specifications.

Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.

Control downtime by scheduling routine PM in the context of operating goals/schedules.

Maintain electrical equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock levels.

Communicate with Terminal management regarding upcoming electrical maintenance projects and the future need for equipment, parts and supplies to complete same.

Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulation.

Coordinate, verify and report down time for the assigned projects.

Practice and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness and efficiency in all work areas.

Communicate with management regarding condition of critical plant equipment to minimize down time.

Who we are looking for:

Degree or Certifications in related field(s) preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years electrical equipment maintenance experience (or formal technical training)

Should have a background involving electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair

Must have knowledge of mechanical moving parts (chains, bearings and rollers).

Must be flexible to work long hours to meet production requirements as needed

Possess a working knowledge of electrical systems as they apply to Conveyance, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems in a Cement Terminal or other Industrial environment.

Must have strong experience in electrical panels and electrical machinery.

Experience in the rail, trucking, maritime, shipping port, dock, or cement/concrete industry highly preferred.

Knowledge of varied types of motors and their operation.

Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning.

Knowledge of the diagnostic and repair tools and equipment used in dissembling, repairing and installing electrical panels and equipment.

Ability to analyze electrical problems, organizes assigned maintenance and repair work, and develops effective work methods.

Must have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary

Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, NEC, as they apply to the operation is a plus.

Ability to work independently.

Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership

Must possess an even temperament to work under pressure to prevent costly delays in production that can result from machinery breakdown

Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to complete assignments/projects through to completion.

Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.

Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
