The General Manager role is based in Piti-GU and reports directly to the Director of Logistics.

Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this position is responsible for the overall operation of the Guam and Saipan Terminals including loading and unloading product, truck, ship and any terminal transportation activities. In this position, there will be a strong emphasis on Cement Terminal Preventive Maintenance & Reliability while providing the leadership required to implement a continuous improvement philosophy.

The individual in this position will be involved and have direct reporting responsibilities for all personnel working at the terminal. This will include assessment of personnel, development, recruitment, and implementing the management processes and procedures that align with Human Resources and Company policies and procedures.

What you’ll get to do

  • Scheduling of cement vessels and assist in planning for the unloading of cement vessels; monitor the unloading of cement vessels by working with vessel’s agents.

  • Coordinating and developing contract of affreightment and cement supply contracts.

  • Manage Guam and Saipan payroll and benefits.

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable for both terminals.

  • Assist in coordinating maintenance activities for the terminal.

  • Detail oriented, with a strong sense of time management, ability to plan and prioritize according to the changing needs of the terminal.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.

  • Ability to coordinate work, assign work and assist personnel in troubleshooting problems and completion of work.

  • Responsible for the scheduling and tracking of the Preventative Maintenance program.

  • Prepare all paperwork involved in Preventive Maintenance and equipment files

  • Communicate effectively with our internal and external customers

  • Develop and submit authorization for expenditure requests (AFE).

  • Assist in plant inspections (security, safety, and environmental) and complete inspection documentation.

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and meeting all federal facility security requirements/regulations.

  • Responsible for managing daily sales and submitting sales and financial reports.

  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.

  • Ability to work unsupervised and supervise others when required.

  • Any other duties as assigned

  • Developing and managing annual Opex and Capex budgets.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree, or significant Technical/Mechanical Maintenance experience with Cement Terminals.

  • Logistics “Supply Chain” experience

  • Demonstrated: organizational and communication skills, technical knowledge, hardware, and software, with computers, commitment and ability to work in a Total Quality and team environment.

  • Experience in resolving problems and dealing with difficult situations.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Have good people skills, team player and must be able to multi-task

  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, with minimal supervision, as well as be a team player.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Minimum of five years of operating experience

  • Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Must be able to pass TSA security requirements to obtain TWIC
