Inland Concrete is currently looking for a responsible, safe, and dependable Batch Plant Operator to join our local team. In this position you are responsible for operating and troubleshooting a ready-mix batch plant, including managing the mixing and loading of concrete mixes according to order specifications for customer delivery.

What You Will Get to Do:

  • Batch concrete using computerized equipment that produces accurately calibrated and consistent mix quality

  • Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or by hand to ensure conformance to established standards

  • Report any deviations from the norm that might impact production, quality or processing efficiencies

  • Check inventory control of raw materials, concrete additives and/or specialized materials and notifies appropriate suppliers of production needs

  • Implement monthly plant inspections and assist in monthly budgets for trucks/plant

  • Communicate with Dispatch and Transportation departments regarding material delivery. Responsible for keeping accurate weight, measure, and billing information to ensure proper crediting to customer. Responsible to collect payments before delivery for all cash sales

  • Daily reporting of the driver start times to the time reporting system Kronos and confirmation with a spreadsheet given to receptionist. Manage days off for drivers in agreement with the manager

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable environmental regulations as it relates to the proper operation of batch plant equipment

  • Record new or revised procedures/practices in a safety manual as well as conduct occasional safety meetings. Attend in daily tool box meetings and manage/order personal protective equipment

  • Responsible for daily inspection of facilities, complete maintenance checklist and order all parts needed for repairs to truck/plant

  • Responsible for daily tasks like answering phones, break blocks, plant maintenance and cleaning as well as run loader, yard work and ensure a safe work environment

Who We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Knowledge of Command batch system is an asset

  • Working knowledge of concrete and admixtures

  • Must be able to effectively communicate and safely follow directions

  • Must have ability to operate Loader and other yard equipment as needed

  • Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team

  • Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions

  • In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain

  • Ability to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime required
