Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Production Manager at our Servtex Quarry located in New Braunfels, TX.

The Production Manager is tasked with assisting the Plant Manager with directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and other day to day production-related activities for a high-volume rock quarry.

The Production Manager ensures compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for safe, environmentally-sound production of a quality product. In addition to supervising our plant workforce, this position works with our customers and sales staff to meet business needs. This position is also responsible for coordinating and directing many of the day-to-day activities at the quarry operation while maintaining the company's high standards.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Interprets company policies to workers to enforce housekeeping and safety regulations.

  • Oversee the Safety and Environmental in your area of the facility.

  • Must hold hourly employees and supervision accountable for the performance (safety and production)

  • Manages and coordinates production to the requirement.

  • Must have managed salaried personnel is previous work history to be considered.

  • Studies production schedules and estimates workers requirements versus hours available.

  • Work with the maintenance leadership to insure that the department’s items are being done.

  • Must manage to the production efficiency (budgets).

  • Calculates factors such as types of quantities of items produced material used, amount of scrap, and frequency of defects.

  • Must maintain all records of payroll as well as every manufactured ton (Into Budget tracker).

  • Manages and follow up on all training of the employees and their records.

  • Participate in the daily production / safety meeting with the supervision.

  • Manage the logging of the production, review downtime and make provision to adjust the operation.

  • Review employee attendance, hours worked and related labor issues with supervision.

  • Manage the visible management program in year area by following up with supervisor and lead men on effectiveness.

  • Manage the hours worked including approving overtime throughout the facility.

  • Holds daily safety / production meetings with the supervisors to ensure schedules are accurate and maintained. Address any order issues or production problems. This meeting should be used to heighten employee’s awareness for any critical information.

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies.

  • Analyzes machine and operator performance and resolves work problems, or assists supervision in solving work problems.

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Ability to cover all jobs in the related work area in the event of an absence.

  • Manage the inventory in our fractionated piles throughout the quarry.

  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

  • Mange your process which includes all facets of the job. Staying onsite after hours when needed.

Who we are looking for:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in progressive maintenance and supervisory roles.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products.

  • Advanced problem solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to lead meetings.

  • Ability to obtain cooperation and influence others to work toward a common goal.
