Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, this position manages aggregate plants and HMA locations in central and northeastern Pennsylvania. The position currently leads eleven direct reports ensuring safe and efficient operation of the plants. The successful candidate will be results-oriented, work with a high sense of urgency, have strong analytical skills and build strong relationships.

This position is responsible for twelve (12) active aggregate operations and two (2) HMA plants distributed throughout central and northeastern Pennsylvania and will be located at either Montoursville or another mutually agreeable location. This position is responsible for diverse operations and has a lot to offer the potential candidate in terms of challenges, experience and potential for future growth.

This position will reside in Montoursville, PA.

  • Analyze plant and personnel performance, evaluating modifications, capital improvements and changes in practice or behavior to increase efficiencies and reduce costs. This position requires strong analytical skills and the successful candidate must be able to make solid business decisions based on quantitative analysis.

  • Coordinate with supporting Maintenance Manager to ensure that solid fleet and maintenance plans are in place and effectively executed at each operation.

  • Prepare and implement annual operating and capital budgets as well as capital spending requests.

  • Partner with the local Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to maintain a safe working environment meeting all internal standards and external regulations. Success is building and sustaining a culture of safety as a core value within all activities. Drive and promote a culture of safety and promote a safe work environment.

  • Identify and develop talented individuals from all levels in order to build and strengthen the organization’s team over time. Evaluate performance of subordinates and provide coaching enabling achievement of their full potential. Staff development skills are a key requirement.

  • Effectively lead team and supporting functions to accomplish organizational objectives regarding safety, environment, profit, productivity, efficiencies, production costs and quality. This will require frequent travel between the sites.

  • Develop close working relationships with peers (Sales Manager, Quality Control Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager) to create maximum value for the business.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the operations.

  • Build relationships within the local communities surrounding the operations.


  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience. Graduate degree a plus.

  • Five years of aggregates operations management.

  • Prior experience managing multiple locations preferred.

  • Basic understanding of geology and various mining methods.

  • Solid knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing aggregate operations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational and sales and marketing issues affecting aggregate operations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of aggregate quality control parameters.

  • Ability to demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking and work with the management team to identify worthwhile business opportunities.

  • Intermediate level computer skills including MS Office products.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget preparation and financial statements.

  • Solid communication skills, oral and written.

  • Proven leadership skills managing multiple and diverse teams.

  • Highly motivated and driven to succeed.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively respond to urgent situations.

  • Complies with all federal, state and local guidelines.
