This opportunity gives you an exciting chance to use your ability to organize and supervise a packaging and shipping operation to help optimize the performance of a cement plant. You will have the ability to implement and develop maintenance activities, product tracking, and interface with multiple customers while contributing to the overall performance of the operation.
This position will reside at our Mitchell, IN Cement Plant.
What you’ll get to do:
•Supervise the operation of the Packing and Loading Department; Coordinate shipping with the sales office.
•Receive and unload railroad cars. Know how to maneuver within their system and gain good service for our customers; Coordinate rail car movements (tracing import cement cars).
•Administer safety program within own department.
•Complete necessary paper work to assure that customers receive requested service in a timely manner.
•Maintain inventory and order paper bags and pallets; maintain a daily inventory of filled paper bags and blended cement available for shipments.
•Provide maintenance and preventative maintenance of packing and loading equipment.
•Assure quality product for shipping through blending and testing.
•Responsible for filling customer orders and managing import cement offloading and blending.
Who we are looking for:
•High School Diploma/GED required.
•Five years of experience in packing and loading (operations and paper work).
•Basic computer skills.
•Mechanical and operational understanding of equipment.
•Construction and knowledge of paper bags.
•Knowledge of the operation and safety of railroad cars and trucks.
•Familiar and knowledge of inventory management.
