This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a major manufacturing project. The Mitchell Project scope includes the execution of a new 7000 tpd clinker line and 2.6 mtpy finish grinding systems, building a new cement plant within the footprint of the existing Mitchell Indiana Cement Manufacturing facility.

At the site in Mitchell Indiana, the Project Accountant will report functionally to the Sr. Business Manager in the Allentown office with onsite reporting to the Project Director.

Project site work began in 2019 with site clearing/levelling and will ramp up in 2020 with the main construction of the plant. The project is expected to last several years.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO:

  • Maintain project cost control system, including any necessary maintenance to the SAP Project system hierarchy.

  • Update project forecast in SAP as required.

  • Download data on at least a monthly basis to facilitate project reporting. Prepare monthly reports and distribute to project team as applicable.

  • Respond to RFIs by region/project team personnel as requested.

  • Compile month-end accrual and forward to Shared Services for posting.

  • Resolve any sales & use tax issues with vendors, as required.

  • Assist with cost recovery effort, including preparation of back charge letters. Forward credit memos to Shared Services with the appropriate coding on them for processing.

  • Calculate asset values and coordinate related activities with region finance personnel and the Fixed Asset Group in Irving, TX at the conclusion of the project

  • Maintain Invoice Log to facilitate month-end accrual.

  • Prepare invoice cover sheets and route invoices for approval in accordance with Invoice Approval Procedure.

  • Post Goods Receipts

  • Review invoices in Workflow as appropriate.

  • Maintain filing system of all vendor invoices.

  • Any other duties as requested by the Sr. Business Manager

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting, project experience preferred.

  • Understanding of accounting concepts and practices gained through broad and deep experience.

  • Solid organizational skills.

  • The ability to understand, influence and communicate with people to achieve the goal of the project. Strong communication in both, oral and written forms.

  • Initiative and ability to solve problems in a broad approach.

  • Prior experience in SAP is strongly preferred; solid computer skills required including but not limited to Excel

  • Willing to travel to Allentown PA as needed; heavier in the first few months for training purposes
