What you’ll get to do:

Are you looking for a long term position with a stable company? Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Senior Human Resources Generalist to partner with our operations to ensure that the business has the support needed to ensuring manpower, safety, sales, quality and budgeting requirements are met.

  • Provide guidance on policies including interpretation and discipline.

  • Administers and assists salaried, hourly and retirees with benefit plans; Facilitate the processing of accident & sickness benefits.

  • Directs employment activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired for plant and staff positions.

  • Develop, implement and actively train personnel in various programs.

  • Assure that company employment, personnel and equal opportunity practices comply with applicable provisions of federal and state labor laws.

  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Company guidelines, performing training,monitoring compliance, etc.

  • Partner with the Safety Manager to proactively manage the health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance.

  • Responsible for the effective operation of the Performance Management System to ensure proper performance and utilization of employee skills.

  • Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on programs originating from individual work situations.

  • Maintains Personnel files and processes related reports.

  • Administer and assure compliance with AAP

  • Provides a variety of human resource services to the plant including recruitment and placement, employee relations, and regulatory compliance qualifications.

  • Effectively coordinate with Region and Corporate HR departments.

  • Must complete all assigned work in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements (i.e., MSHA, OHSA, DOT, DOL, etc.), including safety programs administered at a State or Local level as allowed by the Department of Labor. Must maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and perform their work in a safe and productive manner. In the event of a workplace incident, immediate notification to a supervisor and/or manager is required.

This position will reside in Logansport, Indiana and will require frequent travel to operations in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 5 -7 years of HR experience

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and recruiting/staffing

  • Knowledge of Labor Relations/Collective bargaining a plus

  • MSHA knowledge preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Solid computer skills including MS Office products

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Training experience preferred

  • Must be willing to travel between locations to assist with business needs
