Lehigh Hanson is seeking a Marine Dispatcher for our Romeoville Bargeline and shipyard operations reporting to the Marine Operations Manager. The Marine Dispatcher is responsible for the daily scheduling of barge logistics and ensuring that barges are loaded and delivered to customer docks in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, the Marine Dispatcher is responsible for sharing all plant related administrative duties with the second Marine Dispatcher.

What you’ll get to do:
Prepare weekly barge schedule and coordinate the loading and shipment of barges.
Work closely with the Romeoville Quarry shipping foreman to ensure efficient and timely loading of barges.
Communicate barge orders with company-owned vessels to facilitate delivery of barges in a timely manner.
Process and calculate barge tonnage for preparation ticketing within the JWS system.
Prepare barge tickets and communicate the information to both internal and external customers.
Various plant related administrative duties including payroll, payables, ticketing, etc.
Prepare reports as needed to ensure regulatory compliance.
Split the weekend duty and evening responsibility with the second Marine Dispatcher to ensure proper communication with the marine vessels that operate 24/7.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, perform training, monitoring compliance etc.
Proactively assist management in promoting health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance
Who we are looking for:
Candidates with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language.
Candidates with strong computer skills especially the Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-directed and motivated individuals with the ability to work with limited or moderate supervision.
Candidates willing to work a rotating schedule with on-call availability for weekend duty.
Positive and helpful attitude enabling the marine department to meet all objectives and goals.
