Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Manager. This position will reside in our Leeds, AL plant.
The Elecrical Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Electrical and Automation functions of the plant. The Electrical Maintenance Manager (Electric and Automation) will typically report directly to the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager. The primary objective of this position is to ensure the economic viability of all plant assets and an effective progress and improvement program through the efforts of the electrical and instrumentation personnel. These efforts will place the plant in a competitive position for the short, medium and long term.

What you’ll get to do:
The Electrical Maintenance Manager (Electric and Automation)’s specific duties will include the following:
Provide leadership to electricians and trades helpers in the repair and installation of electrical and control systems.
Oversee daily process problem solving and measurement activities to ensure the continuous operation of the plant.
Ensure the operational viability of the plant by ensuring the proper functioning of all electrical and control systems.
Lead project studies that are not in scope for HTC, but have been identified in the capital plan for enhancement, upgrade, or preventative purposes.
Fully prepare pre-feasibility studies and propose technical solutions with their related investment and operational costs (IRR, NPV, EVA) for plant management to support AFE preparation.
Design and manage investment projects in the area of electrical and automation engineering.
Responsible for the project in terms of quality, cost and time to ensure that specific plant needs are met and the project deliverables are achieved.
Overall responsibility for the safety of all members of the electrical maintenance department through the implementation of programs and systems necessary to ensure a safe working environment and safety accountability at appropriate levels.
Ensures electrical maintenance activities are in compliance with regulations and corporate policies to maximize safety and limit financial exposure.
Development and control of the plant’s electrical maintenance budget to provide the necessary resources to conduct preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities and to contribute to the cost-effective operation of the business.
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum 8 years professional experience in the field of electrical or systems engineering and project management.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in providing support for heavy manufacturing, cement manufacturing preferred.
Good working knowledge of SAP.
Fluent with NEC, NFPA, ISA, etc.
Experience in conducting studies including EVA, IRR, and NPV.
Understanding of contractual matters (negotiation and legal aspects).
Good knowledge of CAD software (design of electrical installations).
Familiar with PLC/DCS and HMI architecture, in particular, Cemat S7 software and hardware.
Willingness to travel within local EBU or South Region.
Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
Provide oversight and leadership to the Electrical and Automation function of the plant through the following:
Develop a long-term plan for the Electrical Maintenance Department that is consistent with the direction and goals of the plant and company. The plan must be coordinated with the plant management team toward the continuous improvement of the plant.
Development of the overall maintenance plan to maximize productivity and minimize downtime through the introduction of sound and proven preventative/predictive/corrective maintenance techniques, technologies, and programs.
Specify and select electrical and control equipment to meet plant production needs.
Review and approve the bid documents and the technical specifications to ensure that all commercial and technical components for the scope of work are met according to HTC and plant guidelines.
Coordinate plant projects and shutdowns with overall large capital projects directed by HTC personnel to ensure the timely and quality completion of the project and minimize downtime.
Oversee all process control system upgrades and changes in alignment with plant and project objectives to meet productivity goals.
Develop process control system and electrical power distribution system design packages to improve the operational viability of the plant.
Identify appropriate technologies for various types of electrical applications to meet electrical and automation needs.
Specify AC/DC drive systems with assistance from HTC personnel to ensure proper interface and equipment specifications are met.
Implement Lehigh’s maintenance initiative.
Implement Lehigh’s contractor management policy.
Advise plant management in the field of electric and automation engineering. for optimization of plant operation. Maintain records, updated technical documentation and drawings created by CAD systems for reference.
Provide expertise in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of plant system problems to achieve minimal disruptions in operations.
Support, direct and implement the overall HTC Electrical, Instrument and Process Control Concepts for all plant projects in accordance with project specifications to ensure timely, quality and cost effective completion of project goals.
Adheres to the Collective Bargaining Agreement as it pertains to the scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize grievances while still achieving operational goals.
