Campbell Concrete, a division of Lehigh Hanson, is seeking a qualified Human Resource Specialist. This position will reside in our Katy, Texas Office.

Working closely with the HR Manager, the Human Resource Specialist will be responsible for completing the day-to-day recruiting and hiring for hourly positons at Campbell Concrete. The Human Resource Specialist will act as a strategic partner to hiring managers on all hourly talent acquisition & onboarding related activities.

Campbell Concrete & Materials operates 23 ready mixed concrete plants throughout the greater Houston area. With more than 200 mixer trucks and nearly 400 dedicated employees, Campbell has provided a quality ready mix product for over 50 years. What you will get to do:

  • Proactively engage with the leadership to establish a common understanding of Talent Acquisition processes and service level standards.

  • Consult with the hiring managers to identify the driver qualifications.

  • Identify qualified hourly internal/external candidates, conduct phone screening interviews, and coordinate on-site interviews with Hiring Managers.

  • Advises and consults with the hiring managers on hiring decisions, job offer negotiations, and keep current market trends and pay within the industry.

  • Provides on-going follow up with managers to provide updates and gather feedback on talent submissions and interviews.

  • Use recruiting tools to meet the demands of the business within appropriate time to fill metrics.

  • Process drug test, fit for duty and DOT paperwork as required, prepare hourly offer letters, and review and manage electronic new hire paperwork.

  • Schedule and attend a variety of Career Fairs to source talent.

  • Train & lead the HR portion of onboarding for new hires.

  • Conduct exit interviews to exiting employees.

  • Adhere to all Campbell and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.

  • Partner with operations to assist with development of training and educational programs.

  • Monitor and track driver DOT /CDL status.

Who we are looking for:

  • 2 or 4 Year degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Should have good written and verbal communications skills and have demonstrated the ability to be approachable and tactful

  • Excellent organizational & strong leadership skills

  • Ability to develop and analyze reporting (Advanced skills with Excel)

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of any organization (Advanced skills with PowerPoint)

  • Be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Can manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.

  • Works closely with Area Managers, Plant Manager, Assistant Area Manager, Maintenance Supervisor and Dispatch.

  • Has experience with SAP, Kronos, ATS systems, preferably Kenexa BrassRing and other online recruiting platforms.
