This position is responsible for maintenance activities at the plant as well as unloading rail cars and assisting with loading bulk trucks. This position is also responsible for housekeeping throughout the plant, cement silo valve position changes and nightly silo level measurements.
What you’ll get to do
Perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.
Operate a track mobile to position rail cars for unloading and ensures rail cars are empty before work is considered complete.
Loads trucks and ensure they are not overloaded and with the correct material.
Keep the plant in a clean, safe and reliable condition.
Inspect all hoppers, feeders, belts, elevators and other auxiliary equipment for safety, housekeeping, malfunctions, out-of-adjustments, equipment failures or potential failures, proper lubrication, and air leaks prior to use. Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment. Notify supervisor of all safety, housekeeping or maintenance issues that are found during inspection that require additional assistance.
Open and close valves located on cement silo tops to divert product to designated silo. Responsible for checking that all valves are in position required to prevent any potential contamination. Responsible for inspecting silo tops for safety, housekeeping, malfunctions, out-of-adjustments, equipment failures or potential failures, and air leaks. Responsible for monitoring operation and condition of silo dust collection systems. Responsible for making adjustments or clearing ductwork to assure proper function of silo dust collection systems. Notify supervisor of all safety, housekeeping or maintenance issues that are found during inspection that require additional assistance.
Measure all cement silo levels each night at midnight for plant inventory purposes.
Assist with plant shutdown duties as required.
Who we are looking for
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
3-5 years maintenance experience and general labor experience
Must be able to carry 50 pounds on a regular basis and able to work at heights
Equipment operation skills a plus
Must be able to work flexible, rotating hours
