The Operations Analyst role is based in Irving, Texas.

Reporting to the Vice President / General Manager of SW Aggregates, the Operations Analyst is responsible for planning and controlling overall financial information, plans and systems. This position appraises operating performance in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, capital planning, trends, and increased profit opportunities. This position has a dotted line reporting relationship to the South Region Vice President Finance.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Leads, manages and develops all finance back-office activities and employees.

  • Leads and manages the monthly Financial Statement Close Process (P&L and Balance Sheet).

  • Prepares annual & quarterly budgets, cost projections and monthly forecasts.

  • Monitors and analyzes operating results against budget and past performance.

  • Recommends benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating results and action to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment.

  • Pro-actively prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.

  • Works closely with South Region Finance and NAM Corporate and Shared Service organizations, ensuring efficient and effective financial processes in compliance with all policies, reporting requirements, and information requests.

  • Ensures the safeguard of assets through the adherence to controls and procedures.

  • Assists in preparation/review of financial models for capital projects; tracks capital project spending and timing against forecasts and budget to understand and report variances.

  • Performs special studies, analyses and reporting at request of business leaders.

  • Develops relationships and acts as resource to business leaders and South Region Finance.

  • Proactively engages in the health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's safety performance.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in analysis and reporting.

  • Current knowledge of accounting, management accounting and familiarity with financial processes and controls.

  • Proficient in working in SAP

  • Experience in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools; recent experience with Essbase is preferred.

  • Ability to effectively present information and ability to communicate and work across multiple departments (sales, transportation, management, etc.).

  • Strong communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
