The Military Recruiting Program Manager role is based in Irving, TX and reports directly to the Recruiting Operations Manager.
What you’ll get to do
Gain commitment from business leaders and human resources managers to assertively and seriously engage in recruiting and hiring former military.
Establish network of active and transitioning personnel at key bases to ensure awareness of local and national openings
Partner with business leaders and human resource managers within each region to understand their hourly and staffing hiring needs and collaborate with them to forecast and determine where former military individuals should be a primary source of candidates.
Represent Lehigh Hanson at virtual and in-person military career fairs
Provide guidance to individuals transitioning into the civilian workforce and build internal veteran network
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with Transition Assistance Program (TAP) offices on bases with all branches of the US Armed Forces
Evaluate the viability of a military intern program through the Army Career Skills program. Then create and manage the program including: determining the type of internships, appropriate locations, recruitment and placement of interns, ensuring the appropriate amount of program rigor/structure, and facilitating full time placement when participants leave the military
Evaluate opportunities with Canadian military
Essential Experience and Skills
Prior military service
Prior military recruiting experience
Work experience that relates to the nature of our industry
Structured working style with a strong attention to detail
Proven excellence developing relationships and building coalitions
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the U.S.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Strong existing network with TAP offices and key personnel
Open base access
Good working knowledge of employment law and recruiting/staffing
Experience with workforce planning, internships, and employee development programs
- Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
