The IT Business Analyst role is based in Irving, Texas and reports directly to the Director of Digital Products.
The IT Business Analyst will be a part of a fast-paced dynamic team working across many facets of the organization. The primary area of responsibility will be within the LHConnect product line (customer facing applications) but will assist in other functional areas as needed.
The ideal candidate will participate in meetings with various stakeholders to outline business process, document requirements and assist in estimating efforts. In addition, throughout the software lifecycle the BA will participate in backlog grooming, quality assurance activities and outlining success criteria.
Though data analytics the BA will analyze data for trends/opportunities within the digital product suite. The BA will also participate in tasks that support the day to day activities for LHDigital products which will ensure quality delivery of solutions and maximize value for solutions within organization.
The LHDigital Business Analyst (BA) will interface across many functional IT departments, with internal customers and in some cases external customers. This role will act as a key bridge between these areas to capture business processes, embed new product features, analyze data for decision makers, testing key functional areas within LHConnect digital products and look for continuous improvement opportunities. Success in this role requires hands-on involvement in all aspects of the application lifecycle management, robust analytical and consultative skills, and strong relationships with fellow peers.
What you’ll get to do
Document and understand business processes and how they relate to the LHConnect products to aid in future training or technical dependencies.
Participate in backlog grooming, defining requirements, estimation of effort and success criteria for identified activities.
Collaborate during two-week spring testing activities which includes creating and executing test plans.
Facilitate show and tell test sessions with business leads on upcoming features.
Collect and communicate upcoming technical change items to relevant business partners.
Evaluate upcoming release items and partner with the development team to anticipate any potential obstacles proactively.
Identify patterns in tickets and support requests, do their own analysis to identify broader root causes and then helping to direct what root causes to fix.
Analyze data to identified value created for new features and functionality.
Review operational data to support value case creation for new features and functionality.
Analyze technical data on new features and start to determine where things are going well and where they are not, provide insights to product owners and change team.
Work closely with our customers to support, develop, and implement scalable, robust solutions that increase efficiencies and improve the user experience.
Essential Experience and Skills
University degree in related discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant IT work experience.
A proven ability to ensure IT delivery is focused on adding business value.
Strong written and communication skills.
Strong analytical & abstract thinking skills.
Forge strong relationships within LHDigital, corporate functions and the business operations.
Comfortable to lead discussions to facilitate learning sessions.
Complete tasks by following LHDigital processes and governance.
Have a high affinity with IT and digital products & quick understanding of systemic details.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Agile business analysis is an asset.
Knowledge of the construction materials industry is an asset.
