HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Area Maintenance Manager based in Houston, TX to support locations across Texas and Arkansas.
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for supporting approximately 10 quarrying/processing sites with equipment operations, process equipment fabrication and installation and heavy maintenance. This position reports directly to the Area Operations Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, coordinating the workforce and actually performing maintenance related tasks related to aggregate production, stripping of overburden, restocking material and equipment maintenance.
They will implement a “Leading with Safety” culture that exceeds regulatory and company compliance, while maintaining a clean and safe working environment at the facility, and during work projects/assignments.

Responsible for collaborating with local management to complete repair and plant improvement projects.
Evaluates all equipment and complete maintenance requisitions, and issues purchase orders for necessary equipment and supplies.
Review the work to be performed and determine the best way to accomplish the work.
Follow-up and communicates schedule to all resources: maintenance, production and contractors.
Plan, oversee, promote and schedule the day-to-day maintenance and repair of plant and other projects. Review progress utilizing accurate metrics and recommend changes to achieve completion of projects as scheduled, while ensuring fabrication, construction, and repairs meet quality standards.
Ensures management is aware of trends and operational issues in a timely manner and is responsible for communicating areas of focus.
Must be comfortable working cross-functionally with all levels of Management within, and outside the plant/facility.
Calculate labor, material, maintenance and downtime savings to quantify improvement ideas, and assure reporting is accurate.
Monitor projects to ensure that each improvement area is successful.
Monitor daily meetings/communications to ensure active participation of all employees that are assigned to specific projects, and conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings with team members.
This position requires significant travel across Texas and Arkansas.
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
5 Years of Supervisory experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or business discipline, or equivalent aggregate industry experience.
Proven strong leadership, creativity and problem solving skills.
Ability to lead and focus cross-functional teams, often under conditions of uncertainty, to increase reliability of equipment.
Must have a high degree of self-motivation.
Experience in design, welding and fabrication of large structures or other aggregates industry repair/ maintenance experience.
Willingness to travel within region.
Must be detailed oriented.
Proficient with window based PC software programs.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and interact as a team member.
