The Role and the Company

The Production Manager role is based in Gold Bar and reports directly to the Area Operations Manager.

This position manages safety, quality, cost and production for both sites, providing leadership for employees, contractors, and operational relationships with customers to the highest level. This position carries out company goals, achieves targets and mining plans for operations at Gold Bar.

What you’ll get to do:

• Implement and maintain site safety program (including MSHA part 46 training) and compliance, all training records, safety meetings and established safety procedures.

• Prepare annual budgets and manage costs to meet operational goals.

• Plan, schedule and direct the mining and processing of quality aggregates for internal and external customers.

• Supervises, recruits, trains and develops the workforce to ensure they achieve performance standards.

• Responsible for site environmental compliance through design and maintenance of mitigation facilities and equipment, to include testing, spill response and awareness training.

• Keep site in compliance with state and federal mining and reclamation regulations and permit requirements.

• Build and maintain a culture focused upon safety and health, as well as compliance with company and regulatory safety, health, and environmental standards

Essential Experience and Skills :

• Engineering or technical degree or equivalent experience

• 5+ years quarry and mining experience

• Aggregates specifications and knowledge

• Strong working knowledge of all aspects of aggregate production - equipment, processes, inventory management, quality standards, metrics

• Budgeting and cost management

• Equipment operation and processing methods.

• Proven leadership skills and abilities with a unionized workforce

• Familiarity with state and federal regulations

• Knowledge of plant and equipment utilization

• Extensive understanding of safety and environmental regulations

• Supervisory experience and very well-developed leadership skills

• Department and/or plant management experience – accountability for people, processes, productivity, quality, waste, costs, assets, and compliance

• MS Office literacy and analytical skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Stripping heavy overburden and reclamation

• P&L accountability

• Union and Non-Union

• Capital planning

• Project Management

Work Environment:

• Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
