We are seeking a qualified Storeroom Clerk who will receive, dispense and inventory parts, materials and supplies.
This position will reside in Glens Falls, New York.
What you'll get to do:
Receive and unpack parts, materials and supplies. Compare packing slips against purchase orders to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received. Check receipts for shortages, damages or defects; complete shortage reports as needed.
Move and store received parts, materials and/or supplies on shelves, in bins, or on floor, according to identifying information, such as style, size, type, etc. Operate forklift to move and store parts. Coordinate receipt of incoming stock and delivery of parts to other buildings or locations throughout the plant.
Issue parts, equipment, and expendable items to employees to be used in the plant. Write, type, or enter information into the computer to maintain stock, inventory and SAP databases and/or records.
Take inventory of parts and equipment and maintains accurate inventory records. Coordinate weekly re-order of consumable parts (e.g., hardware, bolts, grinding wheels, etc.) with vendor representative(s).
Review files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock. May receive, store, and sort unserviceable equipment and supplies for sale, disposal, or reclamation
Read technical manuals or other reference material to ascertain type and specification of parts. Maintain basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts.
Organize and clean storeroom areas.
Follow plant and MSHA Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Maintain an awareness of plant environmental standards. Takes corrective action to address minor problems or reports compliance issues to appropriate supervisor for resolution.
Who we are looking for:
An individual with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months storeroom, material handling or other related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift Certification is preferred.
In addition, the successful candidate must have the following skills:
the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; the ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and, the ability to speak effectively with employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and, have the ability to calculate interest and/or percentages.
