This position is required to utilize HR knowledge and provide support to the business, as well as perform administrative duties for the Canada Region HR department. This position is also responsible for administering and processing payroll items, organizational charts, service awards, and generating reports.

This will be a 12-18 month term position.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Provide human resources support in areas including compensation, benefits, recruitment, performance management, training and development and relocation support

  • Administrate the service award program and events in accordance with company policy

  • Update, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of internal organizational charts

  • Advise and counsel management in the areas of company policy, provincial Employment Standards, and pay items

  • Advise internal customers on work related issues

  • Coordinate and administer salaried transactional matters with the Shared Services Centre

  • Provide support to Human Resources department

  • Manage files, including creation of new salaried employee files and timely filing and retrieval of documents

  • Involvement on HR related projects and other duties as required

Who we are looking for:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources or Office Administration

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a supporting human resources or administrative role

  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced department

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within all organizational levels

  • Knowledge of provincial labour and employment statutes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Proficiency with a HRIS environment, preferably JDE

  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction materials environment is an asset

  • Experience in a shared services environment is an asset
