Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for supervising a mechanical maintenance crew to deliver effective maintenance and equipment reliability.

What you will get to do:
Promote safe work habits and a safe work environment
Assign and coordinate work orders in accordance with the designated planning flow process
Assess work priority, develop work scopes, and coordinate maintenance tasks
Maintain and improve equipment reliability through effective maintenance and equipment upgrades
Gather accurate estimates of repair time, crew size, and costs of repair
Investigate equipment failures and trouble-shoot problems
Coordinate maintenance activities with Maintenance Planners including parts and materials
Ensure employees training is kept current and that maintenance skills are upgraded
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, process, and product quality standards
Coordinate equipment lockout with production, other trades, and contractors
Administer the collective agreement and all company policies and procedures.
Respond to emergency situations to ensure continuity of operations on a 24/7 basis
Keys to success:
Mechanical trade ticket or Mechanical Technician /Technologist diploma
Solid understanding of safe work practices and safety regulations
5 – 10 years’ experience in cement manufacturing or a related industrial environment preferred
Supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills
