The Plant Manager role is based in Coquitlam, B.C. and reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Plant Manager provides leadership to the production, maintenance, QC department as well as the Hot Mix Asphalt operation at our Pipeline and Gilley’s quarries. This position ensures that mine plans, operating plans, capital initiatives, maintenance measures, and distribution function at required levels.
What you’ll get to do
Direct, manage and lead all activities at the quarry operation
Lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure optimal effectiveness and efficiency
Build and maintain a culture focused upon safety and health, as well as compliance with company and regulatory safety, health, and environmental standards
Collaborate with other plants and leaders as a member of the site’s leadership team
Manage the annual operating budget, participate in the capital planning process, and have P&L accountability
Collaborate with the area Sales and Quality Control teams, delivering high quality, minimizing waste, and balancing customer needs with production capabilities & inventory levels
Manage an effective maintenance program to ensure that assets are maintain, critical spare parts are accessible, and inventory costs are controlled
Represent the company in the local community
Essential Experience and Skills
3 or more years Supervisory experience over multiple functions
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, technical or mining degree or equivalent experience.
Strong working knowledge of all aspects of aggregate production - equipment, processes, inventory management, quality standards, metrics
Extensive understanding of safety and environmental regulations
Supervisory experience and very well-developed leadership skills
Mechanical knowledge with process equipment
Department and/or plant management experience – accountability for people, processes, productivity, quality, waste, costs, assets, and compliance
MS Office literacy and analytical skills

- Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
