Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Pit Loader Operator. Reporting to the Plant Manager and the Mine Foreman this position will be responsible for loading rigid frame haul trucks with shot rock in the underground mine, moving finished inventory, and, assisting where necessary in the production and maintenance process.

This position will reside in Connellsville, PA at the Springfield Pike operation.

What you will get to do:

  • Work safely and follow all Federal and State laws and regulations as well as company and site specific policies

  • Safely and efficiently load company haul trucks in a tight, underground environment

  • Conduct and document pre-operational safety inspections on assigned equipment

  • Visually estimate weight when loading trucks

  • Grade roads and maintain stockpiles

  • Communicate repair and safety issues to supervisor and/or mechanic

  • Available to work weekends and overtime as business demands dictate

  • Reliable transportation to and from work

  • Perform within the guidelines of federal, state and local regulatory agencies.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Prefer 2 years prior heavy equipment experience

  • Experience in production loading in an open pit or underground mine

  • Frequently lift 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

  • MSHA Part 48 training a plus
