Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Blaster. This position requires the safe and proficient handling of explosives. This position also requires the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment used for the blasting process.

This position will reside in Connellsville , PA at the Springfield Pike operation

What you'll get to do:

  • Work in an underground environment

  • Follow all federal and state laws and regulations as well as company policies

  • Work safely at a pace consistent with production requirements.

  • Load blastholes with explosives

  • Work from a man basket at heights of up to 50 feet

  • Hand scale loose material with a pry bar

  • Use hand tools and operate mobile equipment including manlift, pickup trucks and explosives auger/bulk trucks

  • Lay out drill patterns utilizing survey spads and string lines

  • Other duties as assigned

Who we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Current Pennsylvania Blasting License or possess the required qualifications to obtain the blasting license

  • Accurately perform basic math, addition and subtraction

  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • Work up to 12+ hours per day/6 days per week when needed

  • Reliable transportation to and from work

  • Pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms background check - clean record required

  • Frequently lift 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and carrying 50 lb. boxes/bags of blasting agents.

  • MSHA Part 48 training a plus
