What you will get to do
Overall cost responsibility for all activities at Cadman’s Canby, OR location.
Maintain site safety programs including compliance with all Federal regulations (MSHA part 46) and State regulations, all training records, safety meetings and established safety procedures.
Proactively manage safety and the health of employees to continuously improve the company’s safety and health performance.
Overall cost, production, quality and maintenance activities including the achievement of business strategic plans.
Plan, schedule and direct mining and processing of aggregates to exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers.
Maintain site environmental compliance through design and maintenance of mitigation facilities and equipment, to include testing, spill response and awareness training.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and permit requirements.
Plan and implement reclamation as required by Oregon State Department of Natural Resources.
Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring compliance.
Develop and train employees for succession management planning.
Essential Experience & Skills
High School diploma, Post-Secondary Education (Engineering) or equivalent, plus relevant work experience.
6-8+ years quarry and mining, aggregate specs and knowledge, budgeting and cost management and equipment operation and processing methods.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Proven leadership skills and abilities with a unionized workforce.
Ability to obtain cooperation and influence others to work toward a common goal.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to lead meetings.
Advanced problem-solving skills.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
Equipment operation and production optimization experience.
Familiarity with state and federal regulations, knowledge of plant and equipment operation and utilization.
Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
