Reporting to the shift Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for operating and continually monitoring different stages of the plant through a computer interface and camera system. The purpose is to operate the plant as efficiently as possible while monitoring plant performance to prevent issues from becoming downtime.


Full time, approximately 9 months per year

8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Rotating shifts will include night time work, weekends and OT as required

Requires becoming a member of the OE955 union

Applicant Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • Completion of 1 year post-secondary education, preferably in the field of Business Management, Computer Sciences, or Engineering Technology. Trade certifications may be considered so long as the candidate meets other criteria in computer literacy and communication skills

  • Strong technical and computer aptitude

  • Computer literacy a must demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs (Excel and Word).

  • Ability to multi task and monitor up to 32 cameras on 6 screens as well as the main 4 screens of control programs

  • Ability to make decisions working with ground personnel in assessing situations and changing conditions within the production process

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • High proficiency in English is a must


  • Starting and stopping crushing and washing equipment as directed by shift Production Supervisor

  • Lockout verification for maintenance employees as plants are shut down for daily service

  • Monitoring plants through cameras and communication from personnel on the ground as well utilizing the sensors on the plant in the HMI. This is to drive performance in an effort to maximize production totals and identify problems before they cause downtime

  • Communicate regularly with the Production Supervisors throughout shift to ensure they are aware of what is happening on the plant

  • Take directions from Production Supervisor and act on them, at times directing others as required

  • Take initiative as opportunities arise for suggesting improvements to the operating process

  • Complete daily production reports and downtime report, emailing them to the Production Supervisors for entry into the system

  • Make notes of sensor bypasses in use and other operating issues daily and enter in downtime report to Maintenance Superintendent

  • Operate the two way radio to communicate with workers at different stages of the plant.

  • Supervisory duties except for excluded items.

  • Other duties as required.

The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player.

Experience in the aggregate or mining industry an asset.
