Job Posting:

Reporting to the Terminal Manager; this position is responsible for the day to day operations including shift work. Duties of this role include unloading railcars, preventative maintenance, shipping, and other duties or projects as required. This position is also responsible to ensure all Safety policies are met and followed including PPE requirements, inspections and FLHA’s (Field Level Hazard Assessments) and ensure the site is fully compliant with Lehigh Cement’s environmental program.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Lehigh Hanson safety program and embrace Lehigh Hanson Zero Harm culture.

  • Operate automated controls to convey product from railcars/bulk trailers to storage silos and storage silos to bulk cement trucks.

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs including proper documentation of current cement terminal conditions and future repair planning.

  • Generate documentation on current terminal performance using programs such as Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  • Effectively communicate with Lehigh employees and contractors using verbal, text and email correspondence.

  • Order in and release railcars using rail Company’s online system.

  • Assist in accurate cement order fulfillment and identifying solutions for order issues.

  • Provide feedback and participate in the continuous improvement initiatives for the terminal.

  • Operate track mobile to position railcars for loading, unloading and transfers to and from site.

  • Manage contractors when on site for plant repairs.

  • Ensure general housekeeping of the facility is clean at all times.

  • Operate various pieces of motorized equipment.

  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a cement manufacturing/distribution environment or equivalent.

  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.

  • Proven ability to succeed in a changing working environment.

  • Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset (Bobcat, Skidsteer).

  • Completion of a High School Diploma.

  • Comfortable and capable of working at heights.

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • Troubleshooting abilities to support preventative and breakdown maintenance an asset.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
