Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Generalist/Hourly Recruiter will provide a broad range of support to several of our materials businesses. Based in Allentown, PA this position will provide our aggregate, ready-mix and asphalt operations assistance in sourcing and hiring hourly staff as well as with generalist support to our operations in upstate NY.

What you’ll get to do:

Talent Acquisition

  • Work directly with HR and business leaders on the development of local recruiting plans and sourcing strategies.

  • Assist locations in managing openings from requisition to screening processes.

  • Coordination of and participation in recruiting events.

  • Build relationships with local technical schools, high schools and colleges to build Lehigh Hanson as an employer of choice in our markets.

  • Work in partnership with our Corporate Talent Acquisition team to maximize best practices and stay on top of recruiting trends.

Generalist Support

In partnership with the Sr. HR Generalist:

  • Assist in the identification, development, and delivery of training to meet regulatory requirements and business needs.

  • Participate in Talent Development processes including succession planning, development plans, and trainee programs.

  • Provide guidance and assistance with employee relations matters

  • Ensure communication and rollout of policies, benefits and other initiatives

  • Participate in the recruiting process for non-exempt positions

  • Work in close coordination with Labor Relations and Safety departments

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

  • 2-5 year’s experience in human resources

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Prior experience with full cycle recruiting for hourly production positions strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong ability to multi-task

  • Solid computer skills including MS Office products and ATS systems

  • Willingness and ability to travel

Work Environment

  • Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
