Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Generalist/Hourly Recruiter will provide a broad range of support to several of our materials businesses. Based in Allentown, PA this position will provide our aggregate, ready-mix and asphalt operations assistance in sourcing and hiring hourly staff as well as with generalist support to our operations in upstate NY.
What you’ll get to do:
Work directly with HR and business leaders on the development of local recruiting plans and sourcing strategies.
Assist locations in managing openings from requisition to screening processes.
Coordination of and participation in recruiting events.
Build relationships with local technical schools, high schools and colleges to build Lehigh Hanson as an employer of choice in our markets.
Work in partnership with our Corporate Talent Acquisition team to maximize best practices and stay on top of recruiting trends.
In partnership with the Sr. HR Generalist:
Assist in the identification, development, and delivery of training to meet regulatory requirements and business needs.
Participate in Talent Development processes including succession planning, development plans, and trainee programs.
Provide guidance and assistance with employee relations matters
Ensure communication and rollout of policies, benefits and other initiatives
Participate in the recruiting process for non-exempt positions
Work in close coordination with Labor Relations and Safety departments
Essential Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
2-5 year’s experience in human resources
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Prior experience with full cycle recruiting for hourly production positions strongly preferred
Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong ability to multi-task
Solid computer skills including MS Office products and ATS systems
Willingness and ability to travel
- Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
